Curricular Activities
Here, you will find some curricular activities I have involved in.
Teaching Practice-I (Internship)
In my last year in the university, I completed my teaching practice in two different elementary schools with students in different grades. The first term I did my practice in Zafer Elementary School. I went there for 14 weeks each and taught English to students. In the first weeks, I observed the school, the students and the practice teacher and I put them in my report forms. Then I prepared 20 lesson plans and completed my first term practice.
Toys and Stationary Donation Project
As part of Community Service Applications class, I participated in a donation campaign of collecting toys, books and stationary for a kindergarten to be opened in a small village of my hometown. I created a flyer to share on social media. I visited some organizations, sports clubs and I announced them to join in the project. Also my friends, family and neighbors made contributions to the donation project.
Poster Designs
For the "Developing Course Content in English Language Teaching" class, I designed 3 posters about education technologies with my group mates.
After reading an Education and Technology book titled “Education as a Marketplace", we summarized the information, designed this poster and brought it to the classroom for whole class discussion.
In order to understand the historical context of instructional technologies, we made some research and designed this "History of of Educational Technology". We brought the poster into the classroom, again, for whole class discussion abotu how educational technology has changed in time. The emphasis here is the infinity symbol which represents the infinity of technological progress.
For this project, we made research about the theories of educational technology. All groups brought their posters to the classroom and presented the information they have collected. We discussed many theories and create a framework on how to use technology in education.
Procedures Genre - Micro Teaching
Presentation: The Roles of English Motivation in English Language Learning
Speaking Skills-I Class - Roleplay. We created a TV Show where some celebrities joined as guests. There is a host and the guests are Sofia the Robot (that's me), Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey and Donald Trump.
